The interoperability of policemen and the military in combatting terrorism and lawlessness has been fortified. PNP Chief General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan has realignment regional and provincial police maneuver units to be placed under the operational control of the Directorates for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) to fill up bigger functions in sustaining internal security operations.
DIPO Northern Luzon, now headed by Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Daway, has established headquarters in barangay Bascaran, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya as part of Cascolan’s 9-point agenda decongesting and relocating DIPO offices in strategic areas to allow closer supervision of regional and provincial mobile forces.
Former Cagayan Valley police director, now Directorate for Logistics of the PNP, Major General Angelito Casimiro, witnessed the turn-over of command of the DIPO-NL this week together with Cagayan Valley police director Brig. Gen. Crizaldo Nieves and Solano town mayor Eufemia Dacayo.
“You will be serving your purpose of strengthening the coordination and the interoperability of the people and the military against communist insurgency, terrorists and other threat groups which surely give the national government its best shot in defeating all threats groups operating in the country, especially here in Northern Luzon in view of Executive Order no. 70 to end local communist armed conflict,” Casimiro stressed.
