Jeyrick Sigmaton wins best actor award at the international Film Festival Manhattan

Congratulations to Jeyrick Sigmaton for winning the Best Actor award for the Short Film category for his performance in ‘Dayas’ at the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) held from October 14 to October 17, 2021 in New York.
Sigmaton rose to fame as the internet sensation “Carrot Man”. He plays the lead role, Bantay, a man jaded by life’s hardships.
The short film is based on the real-life travails and experiences of the Kankanaey communities in Itogon, Benguet whose main source of livelihood is small-scale gold mining in the capricious albeit rich mountains of the Cordillera.
The IFFM endeavors to feature films of different genres like narrative features, documentaries, shorts, and student films from all over the
world.
Furthermore, it focuses on promoting social issues and advocacies in its program.
