According to the dictionary, persistence is the quality of being determined to do or achieve something. On the other hand, dedication is the willingness to give a lot of time and energy to do something. The story of engineer John Roebling building the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, USA in 1870 is one among the concrete evidences of having persistence and dedication.
Sharing his ideas to a partner, his son, Washington, who was never discouraged though his father died and he got himself injured, made it possible to complete the building of the bridge (https://academictips.org/blogs/determination-and-persistence/).
In the context of education, persistence and dedication always go together because in doing or achieving something, one must be very willing to do whatever job is given not only to teachers but also to the pupils or students. These virtues also affect the efficiency and efficacy of an organization or a school.
Persistence and dedication are being seen when everyone works with diligence, interest in people and with the Department of Education (DepEd), and exceed what is being expected of them. As Winston S. Churchill said, “It is not enough that we do our best; sometimes we must do what is required.”
