PSA Benguot Encourages Support for tho October 2020 Labor Force Survey (LFS), 2020 Survey on Overseas Filipinos (SOF) and PhilippineCompetition Commission (PCC)

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Benguet will be conducting the nationwide October 2020 Labor Force Survey (LFS), 2020 Survey on Overseas Filipinos (SOF) and Philippine Competition Commission (PCC). The LFS is a nationwide quarterly survey of households to gather data on the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population. It is aimed to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market.

The 2020 Survey on Overseas Filipinos (SOF) is designed to gather data on the number and socio-economic characteristics of overseas Filipinos and remittances. The survey will cover the overseas Filipinos who left abroad during the given five-year period (October 2015 to September 2020).

The Philippine Competition Commission aims to be world class authority in promoting fair market competition to help achieve vibrant and inclusive economy and advance consumer welfare. The survey aims to track how the extent of knowledge, perception, and attitudes of consumers have evolved.

In this round of survey, an integrated Computer Aided Data Collection System (CADaCs) will be employed for the October 2020 LFS, 2020 Survey on Overseas Filipinos and Philippine Competition Commission (PCC). Thirty-two (32) and twenty-four (24) barangays were selected as sample areas in Baguio City and the different municipalities of Benguet, respectively.

The enumeration period will be from October 9-31,2020. Relative to this, PSABenguet encourages everyone, especially the selected sample households, to please support and cooperate in the conduct of the said statistical activity. Under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, the household supplied information will be held strictly confidential and the report cannot be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or enforcement procedure, nor will be published except in the form of statistical summaries in which no reference to any individual person shall appear.
