Sec. Dar assures more projects for Kalinga

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Oct. 1 (PIA) – Agriculture Secretary William Dar assured that Kalinga will continue to receive windfall projects from the Department of Agriculture saying there are lot of opportunities for investment in the province.
Under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), PhP375 million is allotted next year for the province, Dar announced during turn-over of the Bado Dangwa-Guilayong farm to market (FMR) here on Wednesday.
Dar, the Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for the Cordillera Administrative Region, also bared that the Tabuk trading post with rice processing center will be established with funding of P100M and P5M for the Kalinga State University tissue culture laboratory. The proposed Guilayon Multi-Purpose pavement will be taken care of by the regional DA.
He also promised that the proposed Liwan West- Andarayan in Santor FMR costing PhP35 million, concreting of the remaining 5-kilometer stretch from Guilayon to Magnao with the construction of a bridge, including those initiated by Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang will be considered Dar visited the province for the blessing and inauguration of the PhP230.6M Bado Dangwa Guilayon FM funded under the Philippine Rural Development Program.
The 10.4 kilometer subproject has never incurred a slippage during its implementation period, and has set a record for being the fastest FMR subproject to be completed in five months and 29 days, ahead of its target date of completion with a variance of +24.34 percent despite the imposition of community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He congratulated all stakeholders who have contributed to the early completion of the project saying DA’s investment in Kalinga is sure to boost progress, improve local economy and the lives of the people. During the FMR inauguration attended by Governor Ferdinand Tubban, Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero and Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, the provincial officialdom adopted Dar as son of Kalinga by virtue of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 2020-180 naming him “Dulliyaw” which means brave, strong and altruistic.
This is in recognition of his outstanding contributions and services to the people having served various positions in government especially in the field of agriculture.
