3 NPA member surrender in Benguet

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Three member of the New People’s Army (NPA), including a medical and finance Officer, voluntarily surrendered to the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, Camp Bado Dangwa,La Trinidad,Benguet.
Police Col.Elmer Ragay, provincial director in his report to Police BGen.R’win Pagkalinawan, regional director, identified the surrenderee as Ganggangan Pulis Linang, 35, alias Ka Berto, native of Basao, Tinglayan, Kalinga and a member of Leonardo Pacsi Command , KLG MARCO/ Platoon ABALOS, Political Instructor/Youth Organizer of Team DOS.
Chaniel Bulawit Ugsar,22,alias Moises/Kamandag, native of Purok 2, San Juan, Tabuk City, Kalinga and a member of Yunit Sentro, KLG BAGGAS, ICRC and Mildred Lumino Apil,22, native and resident of Barangay Duagan, Tadian, Mt. Province and a medical and finance Officer of Iskwad Dos Platun Anvil.
Ragay said the three personalities voluntarily surrendered to the joint operatives of PIU, Benguet PPO; RIU-14; RID PROCOR; 1503MC RMFB15; PIU Mt. Province PPO; PIU, Kalinga PPO; 14SAC SAF; S2 54IB; 503RD BDE; NISG-NL; RMFB 1; 73 MICO; 81IB; NICA RO1; BCPO and CIDG Benguet,.
The rebels brought their firearms with one M2 US Caliber 30 Carbine Rifle with defaced serial number, two magazines, four live ammos; M1 US Caliber 30 Carbine Rifle with serial no. INLAND DIV. 169757,two magazines and four live ammos.
Pagkalinawan added that the continuous surrender of the members of the NPA only manifests that the intensified programs of the government troops to counter the insurgency problem in the region is effective thus rebels are starting to lay down their arms and return back to the folds of the law.
