Council proposed ‘no plate number, no travel’

BAGUIO CITY – The committee on public utilities, transport, and traffic legislation of the sangguniang panglungsod ng Baguio hearts the policy that prohibits vehicles without registration plates to traverse the road in the city.
“Many motor vehicles ply the roads of the city without attaching their motor vehicle registration plates to avoid being flagged down by the traffic enforcers,”councilor Benny Bomogao, member of the committee said.
Under the ordinance, motor vehicles without plate number attached will be prohibited to ply the roads and motorists whose plate number have been confiscated due to a traffic violation must show their temporary operator’s permit or traffic citation ticket to the apprehending officers.
He added that violation of this ordinance will be fined PHP500. Moreover, the ‘No plate, No travel’ ordinance was approved on first reading during the city councils regular session on Octobe 21.
