Extracurricular activities can be helpful to learners

“All work no play makes Jack a dull boy”. This was supported by a study by Nikki L. Wilson May, 2009 whereby she clearly stated that students who participate in extracurricular activities generally benefit from the it, many opportunities afforded them.
Benefits of participating in extracurricular activities included having better grades, having higher standardized test scores and higher educational attainment, attending school more regularly, and having higher a higher self-concept.
We have just finished the first grading for public school this week and many schools eliminated extracurricular before the exam because teachers occasionally complain that learners are engrossed in extracurricular activities and that even parents are complaining on the too much involvement of their child to after school activities or extracurricular activities and that they are afraid that their child is missing academics activities especially those that are not well planned, thus failing to coordinate with or complement the activities carried out at in school.
However extracurricular activities that are selected and planned at the school level are helpful they can improve Academic Performance, Explore Interests, and Create Broader Perspectives, develops self-esteem, broaden Social Opportunities, serves productive breaks, learners can acquire Essential Life Skills through it.
In joining Extracurricular activities are a great way to bring balance to your child’s academic life and teach them many important skills during their formative years. Just make sure to not overdo it
It was also proven that kids who participate in sports will lead healthier lives, be physically fit, and be more active rather wasting time in social media.
