A significant change in education is taking place in the beautiful city of Baguio City, particularly in the area of Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE). Dealing with the transforming journey from classroom to career is fascinating because it throws light on how technology is changing our beloved city’s educational scene. Renowned for its diverse cultural offerings, Baguio City is currently experiencing a technological upsurge in its educational establishments. While TLE in Baguio has historically concentrated on employable skills, it is also utilizing digital tools to push students beyond traditional boundaries. This transformation is educating students for professions in an increasingly digital environment, while also bringing education into line with the city’s technical advancements.
All people may participate in interactive learning settings thanks to the incorporation of technology in TLE, which is being used in both distant schools in the mountains and city centers. The classroom is evolving into dynamic environments where students interact with realworld applications of their chosen careers thanks to virtual labs, online simulations, and multimedia materials (Flores & Santos, 2021). This change guarantees that Baguio’s youth are prepared for the demands of their future vocations in addition to piqueing their curiosity. Baguio City’s dedication to practical application in education now enhances its distinct appeal.
Technology is bringing the workplace into the classroom, especially with regard to applications for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Students are preparing for occupations that require flexibility and tech-savviness by exploring virtual work settings instead of being restricted to textbooks (Garcia et al., 2020). Technology has an impact that goes beyond regional boundaries. Baguio’s TLE programs include webinars, virtual conferences, and online platforms to link students with professionals and peers throughout the globe. Due to this worldwide connectivity, students are exposed to a variety of viewpoints, business procedures, and cultural quirks, which helps them become not just locally and internationally competitive but also job-ready (Cordova & Diaz, 2019).
Although technology has great potential, we must address issues that are specific to our city. Equitable access to technology and teacher preparation are problems in Baguio City. To guarantee that the advantages of technology in TLE reach every part of the city and develop an inclusive and capable workforce in the future, local legislators, educators, and community leaders must work together (Dela Cruz, 2021). Baguio City’s educational philosophy changes along with it. Technology’s influence on livelihood education is a transformation rather than just a shift. Baguio’s youth are traveling from traditional vocational training to a tech-driven future, attending classes in both downtown and classrooms tucked away in the mountains. The combination of technology and TLE promises to shape not only vocations but also the fundamentals of education in our beautiful City of Pines as we traverse these exciting times.
