GOV. RAFY GIVES TRIBUTE TO EMPLOYEES AS PGLU KICK OFF MONTH-LONG CELEBRATION OF PCS ANNIVERSARY

In celebration of the 122nd Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service (PCS) and as part of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David’s P.U.S.O. Agenda which seeks to promote a People-centered and Driven Governance, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) launched its month-long PCS activities on
September 1, 2022 through the 2022 PGLU Olympics.

The PGLU Olympics, which comprises various sports categories, is initiated to promote employees’ mental
health and work-life balance as a strategy for the attainment of individual and organizational productivity.
More than a hundred PGLU employees convened early in the morning of September 1 at the Provincial
Capitol Ground, City of San Fernando, La Union to join the kick-off event of this year’s PGLU Olympics. Employees joined in the three and fivekilometer Fun Run while cyclists competed in a 7.6- kilometer Fun Ride. In the afternoon, the opening program of the Basketball Games transpired in San Juan, La Union Auditorium where Vice Mayor Manix Ortega graced the ceremonial tossing of the ball.

Other PGLU Olympic games and PCS activities will push through as scheduled within the month of September. On the other hand, Gov. Rafy, in a video message, greeted all Government Employees in the province. She especially gave tribute to the PGLU employees and highlighted their passion and dedication to serve the public. “Napatunayan ko ang inyong galing, abilidad at sakripisyo upang maayos na mapagsilbihan ang publiko sa lahat ng oras at sa lahat ng pagkakataon.

The PGLU continues to empower its employees through capacity development activities to provide opportunities for them to participate in the local economic recovery efforts of the province which is vital in building a #StrongerLaUnion, a province worth living in.
