New BFP-CAR director is a medical doctor

BAGUIO CITY – Roderick Esteban B. Ramirez, a medical doctor, is the new Regional Director of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Cordillera Administrative Region (BFP-CAR).
A native of Cagayan province, SSUPT Ramirez has been previously assigned as the Chief EMS and Medical Officer of Regions 1, 2, 3 and CAR. SSUPT Roderick Esteban B. Ramirez, MD He provided medical direction to EMS and Rescue personnel and served as the primary physician catering to the medical needs of the BFP personnel from the said regions.
He was re-assigned at the BFP National Headquarters (NHQ) as the Chief of Health and Emergency Management Division in 2018.
Pursuant to a Memorandum dated August 29, 2019 signed by DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año, Ramirez has officially been transferred from Chief Health Service BFP-NHQ to Regional Director, BFP-CAR. Ramirez has a Master’s Degree in Public Management major in Security and Development, Political Science and Government from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
He is a Master’s Degree holder in Hospital Administration and Public Health Education and Promotions. He acquired his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Far Eastern University in 1991. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Tuguegarao, Scintilla Juris Fraternity, the Philippine Medical Association, and Cagayan Medical Society.
Meanwhile, outgoing Regional Director CSUPT Maria Sofia B. Mendoza has been reassigned to BFP-NHQ as the Director for Fire Safety and Enforcement Division.
