New LTO, LTFRB structure speed up transactions

Business transaction with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in the region will be hastened with the setting up of new organizational structure.
Francisco Ray Almora, regional director of the Department of Transportation-Cordillera (DOTr-CAR, said that the new structure will then be aligned to the department of transportation.
Almora said the organizational structure is expected to be completed before the election ban. In the region, the transportation official reported that common apprehensions posted a total of 5,630 for the period covering January to June this year.
Failure to wear the prescribe seat belt topped the list of apprehensions with 2,510, followed by failure to carry registration-drivers license and certificate of registration (564),driving with unregistered motor vehicle ( 490), and non-pro reckless driving (468), driving without a valid driver’s license (398).
Other common apprehensions- non-pro driving under the influence of liquor (4) and pro driving under the influence of liquor (2). The agency apprehended a total of 15 colorum vehicles for the same period.
On licensing, Almora echoed that the validity of driver’s license is extended to 10 years starting 2021 provided no violations were committed for the 5-year period preceding the renewal which will also be based through a Point System.
As of June (2021), the agency issued replacement plates, totaling 5,797 out of the 7,578 applied, thus, its outstanding balance counts to 1,781.
Motor vehicle registration- the extension of validity of registration ending in 6 and 7 are extended up to August 30 and Sept 30 of this year, respectively.
