Oldest COVID-19 patients in Abra recover

BAGUIO CITY, Sept. 25 (PIA) – A couple, the oldest COVID-19 patients in the province of Abra have recovered from the dreaded disease. Abra Provincial DOH Officer Dr. Alex Bayubay reported in the Kapihan forum on Thursday that AC67, an 84 year old woman who has a comorbidity, has recovered from the COVID-19 and was discharged from the Abra Provincial Isolation Unit (PIU) on September 21.
Bayubay said the patient is from San Juan Sur in Manabo, is a close contact of AC64, her husband, who was admitted at a private hospital in Abra due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. He was discharged from the private hospital last September 13.
The patient who has amnesia, was asymptomatic all throughout her stay at the isolation facility. The two are completing their 14 day mandatory isolation separately. Meanwhile Bayubay reported the province recorded two additional cases on Wednesday, September 23.
The new cases are tagged as AC72 and AC73. AC72 is a 19 year old female while AC73 is a 49 year old female. They are both locally stranded individuals from Taytay, Rizal who came home to Nagtupacan, Lagangilang on August 28. They underwent RTPCR testing since they were close contacts of another COVID-19 patient in the province who is tagged as AC68.
They are both asymptomatic and isolated at the Lagangilang Municipal Isolation Unit. As of September 25, the province of Abra has a total of 73 COVID-19 confirmed cases with 66 recoveries, six active cases and one death. All the six remaining active cases are LSIs.
