27 COVID19 Fresh Cases, Single Day Record High

BAGUIO CITY (August 16, 2020) – Baguio City logged in 27 new COVID19 cases on Saturday, including one death.
After only a single case Friday, the city recorded its record high on a single day.
With the youngest at one year old as well as a 67 year old who is the latest mortality that brings the total death to seven here.
Baguio recorded 25 new cases last Thursday.
“Yung eight (of the 27) minors lahat, contact ng existing patients (All the eight cases are minors who are contacts of existing patients),” said Aileen Refuerzo, chief of the Public Information Office – Baguio.
Refuerzo added that 22 of the cases are contacts of previous cases, adding that three “were a result of expanded testing and two were walk-in patients who presented with symptoms.”
The eight minors are ages 1, 2, 4, 4, 9, 11, 12, and 17 with the oldest as female and the rest are males.
After the casualty, the rest are in their 20s  (12), 30s (5) and a single patient age 43.
Total deaths stand at seven with three of the last four, all elderlies. Baguio also logged the youngest at two-day old last Wednesday.
In Benguet four new cases were reported by the PIO – Benguet — two females ages 4 and 27 and a 27 year old male from Lubas barangay of La Trinidad and 26 year old male from Savaha, Taloy Sur of Tuba town.
Benguet now has 128 confirmed cases of which 68 have recovered.
The Department of Health – Cordillera, meanwhile, said there are now 518 confirmed cases, 221 from Baguio, 124 from Benguet, 59 from Abra, 45 from Kalinga, 25 from Apayao, 18 from Ifugao and 11 from Mountain Province.
Active cases is 187 against a recovery of 308.
