8 new Covid cases logged in LU

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Eight new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health (DOH) – Region 1 Wednesday while recording four recoveries. The new cases came from San Fernando City, and Naguilian town, DoH-1 added.

The DoH-1 said earlier that San Agustin of this city has two Covid patients has died while some minors were infected. The same barangay has seven residents who tested positive. The DoH – 1 said the new patients are ages 25, 32, 47, 24, 35, 50 and 19 who are all confined in an isolation facility.

The province is currently undertaking a mass testing operation in said barangay in its efforts to strengthen preventive and safety measures to contain the virus.

On Tuesday, a 41-year-old male from Barangay Guising in Naguilian, La Union also tested positive at the Baguio General Hospital Medical Center (BGHMC) and was endorsed by DOHCAR.

Meanwhile, the DoH-1 reported three recoveries patients from San Fernando City, Rosario, and Caba.

They were discharged from their respective isolation facilities last August 3 and 4 after their second swab test result came out negative.
