Abra Town Businessman Killed, 11 YO Boy Bystander Wounded In Freak Shooting

BAGUIO CITY (March 16, 2021) – A businessman died at the hospital and an 11 year old boy was hit by a stray bullet Monday night in a freak gun attack in barangay Talogtog, Dolores, Abra.
Dolores town police reported to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. RWin Pagkalinawan that Arturo Santiago Miranda, 40, owner of Abyadan Farm Supply was tending his establishment when the gunman identified as Cesar Damian, 70, a retired employee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sprung from nowhere and began shooting at around 7:20PM.
Miranda suffered a lone gunshot wound on the head while Neco  Marcaida, 11, who happened to be at the area of the shooting was hit by a stray bullet, police added
Tuesday morning though, the suspect was found lifeless and was hanging by his neck under the Don Mariano Marcos Bridge in Barangay Mudiit, Dolores.
Dolores town police chief Lt. Marcial Carlos said they found Damian bore a gunshot wound on his head and recovered a caliber 38 and a motorcycle from where he was found.
Dolores town police have yet to ascertain what prompted the gun attack.
