BAGUIOITE PROMOTED AS DSWD ASSISTANT SECRETARY

BAGUIO CITY— Baguioite Irene B. Dumlao, former spokesperson of the Department of Social Welfare and Department (DSWD) was recently promoted to the rank of DSWD assistant secretary. Dumlao, who served OIC of the DSWD’s Social Marketing Service, was tasked to handle the DSWD OSEC (Office of the Secretary) Concerns portfolio as DSWD assistant secretary.

In a July 29, 2022 letter to DSWD Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo, Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez disclosed the appointment of Dumlao, and other DSWD assistant secretaries to fill up the department’s leadership.

Before her stint as DSWD SMS OIC, Dumlao served as Program Development Officer (PDO) V (regional program coordinator) and PDO II of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) regional program management office in the DSWD-Cordillera Administrative Region Field Office. She also became the Deputy Program Manager of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program at the department’s National Program Management Office.

Dumlao, who is a Conferred Career Executive Service Officer IV, is a BS Accountancy graduate of the Saint Louis University and took Masters of Public Management at the University of the Philippines-Open University. She is the husband of Amianan Balita Ngayon reporter and columnist and also Philippine Star reporter and Pilipino Star Ngayon columnist Artemio Dumlao.(TFP)
