BCLES conducts school-community clean-up drive

Becday Chasoras Lamsis Elementary School of Tublay, Benguet recently conducted oneday clean-up drive along the road of Bawi, Baayan.
The activity is in accordance with the Regional Memorandum no.260 s. 2016 – “Bayan ko, Linis” National Clean –up Day.
The activity started with simple orientation to the pupils about the significance of the activity. The teachers assigned the pupils to the different areas to be cleaned. Grades 3 and 4 pupils roamed around the school premises to pick-up scattered cellophanes, papers and wrappers of candies. Some pupils weeded grass along the school way.
Other pupils swept the scattered dried leaves and dust around the school campus. Grade 5 and 6 went along the road of Bawi, Baayan. They picked cellophanes, papers, bottles, among others.
The garbage collected separately was dumped in garbage and compost pits, respectively and also in the MRF (Material Recovery Facilities). Materials that are non-biodegradable such as wet cellophanes and wrappers plumped in the 4 parts garbage pit.
The said activity was in cooperation with the school’s Supreme Pupils Government (SPG). YES-O officers also contributed to the success of the activity.
