D.A. Department or Agriculture give Updates and Concerns: The impact of the African Swine Fiver (ASF) has posed challenges to the supply of live pigs and pork which in turn caused price hike due to tight supply.
*Initiatives: The City of Baguio and La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay (LISTT) Area are considered as two of the major metropolitan area of the Cordillera. The areas are mainly dependent on importation of hogs from nearby provinces and regions such as Mountain Province, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac and Pampanga. As such, the Regional Field office has conducted several initiatives to address the issue on the price hike and limited supply of pigs and pork. With Susan B. Balanza – Chief PMED, Cameron P.
