GCQ INSPECTIONS ON

A total of 143 establishments were checked for compliance with General Community Quarantine (GCQ) restrictions during regular inspections by a joint team from the city government.

The establishments consisting of 11 driving schools, four cinemas, museums and cultural centers, one library, two game arcades, 55 food, beverage and restaurants with dine-in, 15 personal care, spa and gym, 23 events and function halls, and 29 accommodation establishments were informed of GCQ rules under Executive Orders Nos. 42 and 46-2021 and were warned that violation will result to severe penalties.

The inspections will be a continuing activity, according to Permits and Licensing Division Chief Allan Abayao who led the team composed of the Public Order and Safety division of the City Mayor’s Office and the BCPO.

Under Executive Order No. 42-2021 issued by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, effective March 22 to April 4, the following are not allowed to operate: driving schools, traditional cinemas, galleries and cultural center, libraries, archives, game arcades, indoor tourist attractions while the following are allowed limited operations: dine-in establishments, gyms, salons, spas, personal care establishments at 50 percent.

Executive Order No. 46-2021, meanwhile, provides additional restrictions on movement and activities in Baguio effective until April 4, 2021:

Curfew was adjusted to 10PM to 4AM, age-based home restrictions were readopted, physical fitness was kept at 50 percent capacity, among others. -Aileen P. Refuerzo
