Gov’t agencies hold ‘serbisyo caravan’ in 3 barangays in Pilar

PILAR, Abra – With the theme “Tulong at Malasakit para sa Ikauunlad at Ikaaangat ng Pamumuhay ng Mamamayan, ” some government agencies delivered their services and programs in three remote barangays in the municipality. Spearheaded by the 81st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, 1504th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), and the Provincial Mobile Force Company with the Abra Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC), a Community-Dialogue and Serbisyo Caravan was held at Barangay Ocup last November 26.
Free haircut and massage services were offered and family food packs to the 150 household beneficiaries were provided. Free medicines and free check up for the residents were also provided. About 10,500 hito, 6,500 tilapia, 600 gurami fingerlings and five 25-kg sacks of grower feeds were distributed to the fisherfolks of the barangay.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority offered scholarship training programs and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources registered new fisherfolks in the barangays. The Dept. of Trade and Industry facilitated business name and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) registration while the Dept. of Agrarian Reform gave technical support and free consultation to the residents on issues and concerns of their lands.

Chowking and Jollibee Bangued led by Manager Ryan Gabuat also gave free food packs, balloons and toys to the children of said areas. The outreach activities were fully supported by the Pilar LGU and Municipal Police Station.
