Kite Eagle Flies Back In Ilocos Norte Wilds

A baby Brahminy Kite eagle flew back to the wilds in Ilocos Norte after it was released by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Monday morning.

Staying two days with the environment officers in Ilocos Norte for two days after it was found by two teenage boys near the Padsan River in barangay San Antonio, Sarrat town, the baby Brahminy Kite eagle had a broken right wing.

The boys who reportedly found the baby eagle already weak, informed authorities about their find.  Losing no time, wilderness protection officers of the DENR in Ilocos Norte picked up the baby eagle for safekeeping.

It was turned-over to the Fort Ilocandia Bird Sanctuary where it was treated of its wing injury.

After ensuring its full recovery,  the DENR-Ilocos Norte released the eaglet at a thick forest in Barangay Sulbec, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
