One arrested for Overpriced Alcohol

BAGUIO CITY – Baguio City Police arrested a businessman after a complaint was filed against him for selling overpriced isopropyl alcohol yesterday morning.
The suspect was identified as Mark Addogon Bagiw, 44, married, businessman and residing at No. 114-116 Satellite Market, Gibraltar Barangay, Baguio City.
Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect was selling a 100 ml Isopropyl Alcohol to a price of Php 80.00, which is greater to the suggested retail price (SRP) of Php 36.00 per 150ml.
In addition, the alcohol content was reduced to approximately to 60 ml.
Confiscated from the suspect were fifteen (15) pieces of 60 ml Isopropyl Alcohol contained in unlabeled plastic spray bottles.
The suspect was brought to CIDG-Baguio and now facing charges of Violation of R.A. 7581 (Price Act) and R.A. 7394 (Consumers Act of 1992).
