Tabuk City places barangays on lockdown because of COVID-19 surge

BAGUIO CITY (September 4, 2021) –  The City Government of Tabuk, Kalinga placed five barangays under granular lockdown after logging a surge of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) cases.
Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero issued Executive Order number 35 series of 2021 placing barangays Bulanao Centro, Bulanao Norte, Dagupan West, Dagupan Centro and Agbannawag under granular lockdowns starting 12:00 AM of September 4, 2021 until 12 midnight of September 16, 2021.
The mayor said, this is part of the measures in containing and arresting the further spread of the virus.
Estrañero stated that the City Health Office (CHO) listed 78 Covid 19 cases in Bulanao Centro, 41 cases in Bulanao Norte, 25 cases in Dagupan Centro , 26 cases in Dagupan West and 25 cases in Agbannawag as of September 3, 2021.
He said it is a cause of concern considering the clear and present danger posed by the new and deadlier delta variant of the virus.
The CHO strongly recommended the imposition of granular lockdowns on the five barangays.
Estrañero said the movements of people accessing essential needs though are allowed, but stressed individuals who are under 18 years old as well as those who are above 65 years old are not allowed to go out from their homes except for emergency and medical reasons.
Meanwhile, the city government also extended the lockdown status of Barangay Lacnog East for another 14 days.  Said extension will last until 12 midnight of September 15, 2021.
