Update on Social Amelioration Program

April 9, 2020 – The City Government has begun the partial release of Social Amelioration Program financial assistance yesterday to four barangays that came up with complete documents and assessment.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong directed City Social Welfare and Development Office Betty Fangasan to take steps to further speed up the process of validating beneficiaries to facilitate the release of the subsidy.
Fangasan said they had communicated to all Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) and barangay officials to organize teachers and volunteers in their areas to help out in the process.
The volunteers will be oriented on the assessment and filling out of Special Amelioration Card (SAC) forms. All city government personnel and volunteers numbering more than 200 will work overtime this Holy Week to expedite the program.
“This will be our form of penitence for the Holy Week,” according to the mayor who will also be on hand to supervise the implementation of all control and prevention measures against the Coronavirus disease during the Lenten period.
