Abra Gov Tests Positive For COVID19

BAGUIO CITY (March 13, 2021) –  Abra Governor Ma. Jocelyn Bernos has tested positive for COVID19.
Result of her RT-PCR test came out Saturday, she announced, admitting she even underwent rapid antigen test on Friday if only to verify after she exhibited symptoms of the dreaded virus.
She claimed it was her second RT-PCR test since March 5 upon completing her quarantine on that day after her trip outside her province.  The first PCR test turned out negative.
The lady governor said she immediately went back to work on March 7
receiving the vaccine allotment for her province at the Provincial Health Office and launched he roll-out the next day.
She admitted that “among all my engagements, there were exposures to people coming from outside the province”, bravely revealing though that “because of the excitement for the vaccine roll out, we missed to check the PCR test of the people I was with (who came to the province)”.
Since I am asthmatic, regular coughing and sneezing every morning is not that alarming, she thought.  But on Friday morning, Gov. Bernos reportedly had a self antigen test and turned out positive.  An RT-PCR test was conducted on her for confirmation and result came out Saturday, she said.
Contact tracing was immediately launched with Gov. Bernos appealing to those she came in contact with for the past 7 days “to submit yourself to your Rural Health Unit (RHU) for PCR testing and isolate yourself.”   “Pasensyan apo,”(my apologies), she begged.
Bernos further acknowledged, “I knew that because of my job, the possibility of getting the virus is very high.”   Eto na un. That day has come, she stressed, while warning,  “for those who still don’t believe that the virus is real, I hope that soon enough, you will believe it exists and that we all have to be careful. Please take care of yourselves.”
Since the Abra Governor is symptomatic and an asthma patient, she had submitted herself today at the Abra Provincial Hospital for admission.
