BALAY NAMNAMA RECEIVES PHP665K SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN IN CONFLICT WITH LAW REHAB, REINTEGRATION

SAN FERNANDO, La Union

Gov. Rafy, together with Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Ranillo Ipac, personally received the
assistance from Regional JJWC Chairman and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 1 Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan. This is composed of furniture including sala set and beds, personal care supplies, livelihood training kit, life skills training materials, disaster and emergency kit, food supplies, and therapeutic materials which will be helpful in the CICL’s preparation for their SocioEconomic Reintegration with
their families and communities.

Supporting the Province of La Union’s initiative towards rehabilitation and reintegration of Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) through Bahay Pagasa (BPA) Project, the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (JJWC) has turned over to Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David their initial assistance amounting to Php 665,000.00 worth of subsidy for the said project on January 18, 2024 at the Balay Namnama, Bacnotan, La Union.
Gov. Rafy expressed her utmost gratitude to the JJWC and DSWD for their unceasing support to the BPA.

In he acceptance message, she committed that the Provincial Government will continue to support and protect the CICLs at the same time she challenged the BPA residents to do their part in helping themselves to change for their betterment. “Ang mga life skills and livelihood training materials and kits po na mga ito ay malaking tulong sa
rehabilitasyon at pagbubukas ng maraming oportunidad sa mga kabataang nasa ating pangangalaga. Moreso, these
donations underscore our strong commitment to La Union PROBINSYAnihan in achieving our goal in our province’s
juvenile justice approach.

As the governor of this province and a vocal advocate of the youth, I assure you that these resources will be utilized
efficiently to maximize its impact on the lives of the young individuals here in Bahay Pag-asa,” Gov Rafy expressed.
The partnership between JJWC and the Provincial Government of La Union exemplifies the power of La Union PROBINSYAnihan in creating positive change. As the BPA Project continues to improve, support from different
private and public partners and stakeholders serves as a beacon of hope for the community that manifests
commitment to rehabilitating and reintegrating young individuals into society.
