Kalinga PNP continue humanitarian missions amidst pandemic

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, March 9 (PIA) – Police units in the province continue to do humanitarian missions to the remote communities and less fortunate individuals at this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Tabuk City Police Station implemented a potable water work system in Sitio Gaogao in barangay Dupag benefiting 23 households, the Gaogao Elementary School, St. Joseph Church and the barangay hall.
City Chief of Police PLTCOL Radino Belly said the project was requested by the community during a consultation on January 8 this year. Work commenced on March 6 with police personnel and their trainees spearheading the installation of pipes from the source situated at Sitio Dao.
“The project is funded through the National Task Force on End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) for Dupag, an identified ELCAC barangay,” Belly said. Personnel of the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company led by PCPL Noel Dumayag and elements of the 50th Infantry Battalion, in cooperation with the Parents-Teachers Association of Tanglag Elementary School and youth of barangay Tanglag in Lubuagan conducted “Brigada Eskwela” at said school on March 8. Tanglag is also an ELCAC barangay.
Meanwhile, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (Chivets) led by PCPT John Paul Colangan, through the unit’s “Edukasyon Mo, Suportado Ko” program, provided an android phone, Globe Wi- Fi and assorted groceries to Alicia Kate Bayangan, a 2nd year student taking up Bachelor of Agricultural Business at Benguet State University, La Trinidad Benguet. Said android phone was through the initiative of TESDA Kalinga Provincial Director Victor P. Brioso.
Alicia Kate, the 12th recipient of Chivets “Edukasyon Mo, Suportado Ko” is the second of four children of Josefa and Emilio Bayangan, both farmers from Dangtalan, Pasil. “Edukasyon Mo, Suportado Ko” program of this unit aims to help students who can’t afford to buy gadgets for their online class during this pandemic.
