Reds Foist NPA Will Outlive Rody’s Term And Even Beyond

BAGUIO CITY (March 6, 2021) –  The Communist Party of the Philippines insists its armed wing New Peoples Army will outlive President Rodrigo Duterte’s presidency.

This in reaction to the President’s remarks Friday ordering the military “don’t mind human rights” and “kill, kill” the armed fighters of the NPA.

CPP information officer Marco Valbuena declared “(Pres.) Duterte will fail because of the economic crisis and government bankruptcy resulting from (your) anti-people policies and corruption, and all the hardships, the terror and armed oppression (you) have imposed on the people, (you) have only succeeded in inciting more and more people to fight back and join the NPA.”

Valbuena though admitted “the AFP will continue to be militarily superior to the NPA, but will remain politically inferior in terms of peoples support,” while citing the continuous government spending for military hardware like helicopters, airplanes, drones and ordnance.  “(But) more money is taken away from the people’s health, education, social and economic needs,” the CPP official bantered.

The CPP continue to insists that promises of homes, jobs and food remains “all empty talk”.   Addressing Duterte,  “You are blind not to see how millions of Filipinos remain homeless, jobless and hungry.  The military’s “barangay development” is bound to fail to bring genuine change to the lives of the downtrodden peasant masses,” said Valbuena.

Duterte’s orders to “kill, kill, kill” and “don’t mind human rights”,  Valbuena believes, “instigates the military and police to commit more abuses and crimes against the people.  The masses are being terrorized and suffering grave injustices. The people demand an end to the brutal and dirty war of the AFP.”

The CPP, Valbuena stressed,  “(is) confident that even by the end of Duterte’s term or life, the AFP’s plans of crushing the NPA will be unrealized.  With the boundless support of the people, the NPA will continue to recruit new members, help the masses in their struggles, defend them against the state terrorists, overcome the AFP’s offensives and advance the people’s armed resistance.”

“The people’s war will persevere long beyond Duterte until the people’s desire for national freedom and social liberation is satisfied,”Valbuena vowed.

“8-9 Rebels Surrender Daily In Northern, Central Luzon”

But the military north of Manila claims that 8-9 communist rebels give up to government daily, prompting the Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) to believe that the communist movement is crumbling in Northern Philippines.

Nolcom bared a total of 235 communist rebels returned to mainstream society for February 2021 alone, translating it to “8 to 9 rebels surrender everyday”, which is a much higher rate compared to January that 2 to 3 rebels are turning their back at the CPP-NPA.

According to the Nolcom, of the total 235 surrenderees: 10 were regular NPA members with 5 firearms; 123 “Milisya ng Bayan”; 2 Sangay sa Partido ng Lokalidad; and 100 party members from the different NPA-affiliated mass organizations in Northern and Central Luzon.

All the 235 former rebels are currently undergoing processing of requirements for the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).   This is in addition to the 87 rebels who surrendered in January 2021 who have completed the processing of their requirements and are waiting for the release of their ECLIP grants, Nolcom reported.

Northern Luzon Command Chief, Lieutenant General Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr. believe that the growing number of rebel surrenderees each month “indicates the nearing end of the already dwindling forces of the communist terrorists,” adding, “the communist terrorists in Northern and Central Luzon are now crumbling and are nearing their total destruction, as more of their members realize the deceptions and manipulative ploys of their leaders who recruited them and use them do further their personal agenda.”

Nolcom attributes the mass surrenders to the active support and collaboration of local government units and the community through the whole-of-nation approach. “We are elated to know that here in Northern and Central Luzon, the local government units and the community continue to embrace their active role in the fight to totally eradicate the communist terrorists. Indeed, the whole-of-nation approach is making headways in our campaign to end the local communist armed conflict in this part of our country,” the Nolcom commander said.
