Traffic plan for Good Friday

BAGUIO CITY – The Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Baguio City Police Office bared the traffic scheme to be implemented on Good Friday, April 19 in line with the religious events lined up on said date.

Two processions have been scheduled simultaneously at 6 p.m. – one of the Our Lady of Atonement by the Baguio Cathedral and the other of the Sto. Intierro by the St. Vincent Ferrer Parish.

The first procession will cover the following routes: Baguio Cathedral – Fr Carlu St. – Lower Session Road – Maharlika – Harrison Road – Rotunda – Gov. Pack Road – Session Road – back to
Cathedral and will affect the whole stretch of Session Road, Magsaysay Avenue, whole stretch of Harrison Road and Calderon St.

TEU Head Oliver Panabang said they expect 3,000 to join the activity and the following scheme will be implemented:

*Post Office Loop – twoway traffic; *Fr. Carlu St. – closed to traffic until the procession is over; *Both sides of Session Road – closed while the procession is on-going;

*Upper Mabini – closed going down Session Road while Gen. Luna going up and going down Magsaysay Avenue is open to traffic;

*Km-0 or O-shaped overpass (Hotel Veniz) – Stop and Go scheme;

*Both sides of Harrison Road – closed while the procession is on-going;

*Calderon St. – closed while the procession is ongoing.

The second procession will take the route: St. Vincent Ferrer Church – Naguilian Road
– Ferguson Road -Brower Road
– back to St. Vincent Ferrer

Church and will affect the whole stretch from Bokawkan – Naguilian Intersection to Ferguson Road and Brower Road.

The stop and go scheme will be applied in said areas.

Strictly no parking along the following roads and procession route effective 4 pm until the procession is over: Both sides of the whole stretch of Session Road from Mercury opposite of BB PICAG/comfort room to Lower Session Rd.; whole stretch of the outbound lane of Harrison Road; whole stretch of Calderon St.; TM Kalaw 1 & 2 area including Government Center Road; Abanao St. including Abanao Ext.; Shanum St. and Carino St.; Salvoza Drive and Bautista Drive; Yandoc St – Legarda Road; whole stretch of Bokawkan – Naguilian Road including Ferguson Road – Brower or Gaerlan St.

The public is advised that to not traverse the area during the procession until the activity is over in order to avoid heavy traffic and being trapped within the central business district.

Towing of illegally parked vehicles will be strictly implemented. Activities under the Summer in Baguio continues this week.

On April 13 and 14, the Baguio Craft Fair will be done at Yangco Road, while a summer creatives fair will happen at the Dominican Heritage Hill on April 13 up to June 2.

On April 13, “Epiko,” an original musical ends at the St. Louis University Center for Culture and Arts (SLU-CCA). The SLU Dance Troupe concert will also be staged at the said venue on April 28 and 29.

On April 18, the Baguio Correspondents and Broadcasters Club will choose the Lucky Summer Visitors who will receive red carpet reception.

Cantatas and early Easter morning masses are scheduled on April 21.

On April 23, the Summer Arts and Crafts Workshop will be hosted by the Forrest House Training Center.
