At least 160 Benguet students recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, marking the start of their participation in the Special Program for Student Employment (SPES) program of the Provincial Governor’s Office. The MOA signing took
place at Ben Palispis Hall in the Provincial Capitol on Saturday, April 1, 2023. The participating students come from different municipalities in Benguet and will be divided into two batches.

The first batch will work from May to mid-June, while the other batch will work from mid June to August this year. During their 30-day employment, the students will be deployed to do office and
field works in various offices at the Provincial Government, with 21 students assigned to Kibungan LGU. They will receive a pay amounting to P16,215.00.

Prior to the MOA signing, the students attended an orientation by Labor and Employment Officer III Julie Tabcao, where they were presented with labor market information on the current employment status in the country and opportunities for future employment. Meanwhile, Governor
Diclas gave an inspirational message underlining the significance of selfperseverance and courage in pursuing education.

The Governor expressed confidence that the students’ experience in the program will serve them well in their future employment. The yearly Special Program for Student Employment (SPES)
program of the Governor’s Office is an opportunity for students to gain work experience while earning.
