PRO-Cor destroys P13.2 M MJ in Kalinga

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Some P13.2-Million worth of marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed in Kalinga while seven drug pushers were separately captured and one surrendered in a series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted region-wide.

In the latest operation over the weekend, exactly 13.2 Million worth of marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite in Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga on July 18, 2020. The combined drug operatives discovered a 4,500 square meters land area planted with more or less 66,000 fully grown marijuana plants.

Aside from marijuana eradication, anti-drugs operation yielded positive with the arrest of Suspect Reden Gunaban Guaves, 38, farmer and a resident of Nambucayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga, who was apprehended in Corner Mayanggao St and Roxas St. Dagupan Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga on July 15.

Confiscated and seized from his possession were two (2) pieces of a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; Php1,000.00 buy-bust money and one black keypad SAMSUNG phone.

In another operation, John Mark Estoque De Guzman, 31 and Johnson Galad Mendoza, 24 were likewise arrested in Brgy Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet on the same date after they were reported
having an illegal drug activity inside their rented house. Confiscated from their possession were two (2) plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Four more drug suspects were individually apprehended on July 14, 2020. Leading the list is a Regional high-value target identified as Federico Bayuga Olivers aka Eric, who was arrested in Purok 14, San Carlos Heights, Irisan, Baguio City by virtue of a Search Warrant.

Evidence confiscated were more or less 50 grams of suspected Shabu; more or less seven (7) ml of suspected liquid meth; assorted drug paraphernalia; one (1) cal. 25 pistol; and 29 pieces of cal. 25 ammunition.

Other suspects Marlon Flores Pescacio Jr. and King Gacusan Agatep were caught at No. 73 Upper Malvar, Trancoville, Baguo City while, Edwin Lucia Razon was apprehended at Starwood Hotel, Kisad Road, Baguio City.

Along with their arrest is the confiscation of four (4) sachets of suspected Shabu and Php5, 500 buy-bust money from Marlon while, two (2) sachets of suspected Shabu and Php3,000.00 buy-bust money was taken from Agatep and one (1) sachet of suspected Shabu, Php5, 000.00 buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia and a cellular phone was seized from Razon.

In line with City Executive Order No. 54 declaring marijuana cultivators and drug pushers as Persona Non- Grata in the City of Tabuk, another Regional Top Most Drug Personality and a High Value Individual (HVI) identified as Paul Obal Massagan, 44 and resident of Brookside, Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga voluntarily surrendered in Dagupan Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga on July 13.

He submitted himself and surrendered his one cal. 45 COLT MAK 4 series 80 with one magazine without ammunition and one M1 Garand rifle cal. 30 Springfield and 2 clips 16 live ammunition to Tabuk police.

Top cop PROCOR Regional Director PBGen R’Win Pagkaliwanan said that these accomplishments show that PRO-Cordillera is serious in curbing illegal drugs and arresting this hardheaded drug pushers.
